Download a registration form from the Washington State Web site and mail it to Office of the Secretary of State, Voter Registration by Mail, P.O. Box 40230, Olympia, WA 98504-0230.
Agencies that provide public assistance, dispense Medicaid or food stamps, provide Women/Infant/Child benefits or Aid to Families with Dependent Children must also provide voter registration assistance.
You can register when you obtain or renew your driver's license.
Voter registration forms are also available in-person at a number of locations, including:
City clerk's offices
All public library branches
All public schools
Fire stations in Bellevue, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Seattle, Tukwila, Southcenter, Redmond and Renton
You should register to vote at least 30 days before the date of scheduled elections. If you miss the 30-day deadline, you can still sign up in time for the election, but you must register in person at your county elections department no later than 15 days before the election.
Absentee Voting: You may choose to mark the box on the voter registration form to request an ongoing absentee ballot. This means you are requesting to receive a ballot by mail for each election in which you are eligible to vote. If you choose not to receive an absentee ballot automatically, you may either vote at the polls or request an absentee ballot for any given election. If you decide that at a later time you would like to receive a ballot by mail for each election, you may do so by written request to the county elections office.
You may request an absentee ballot as early as 90 days before an election.
